Annual BASL Conference – May 2022

BASL are delighted to announce that this year’s BASL Conference will take place in the beautiful surroundings of the The Kia Oval – Surrey County Cricket Club.

Conference agenda:

Keynote Speaker: Richard Whitehead MBE

Richard’s incredible achievements include multiple World, European and Paralympic gold medals, world records and the phenomenal feat of completing 40 marathons in 40 days.

The Richard Whitehead Foundation tackles the barriers faced by people with disabilities when accessing sport and engaging in their communities.

Panel Sessions:

“Is traditional broadcasting yesterday’s news, in the brave new world of streaming? What is in the consumers interest?”

“Wellbeing in sport, is it achievable in practice?”

“Are sports selling the family silver? The opportunities and pitfalls of the increasing trend for private equity investment in sport.”

“The implications of COVID-19 and beyond.”

BASL 2022 Masterclass Series

The BASL Masterclass Series delivers current and relevant content in an interactive and engaging environment. Each Masterclass is delivered by sport and law professionals and is accompanied by a Masterclass Pack, enabling further knowledge enhancement as well as being pivotal reference points for participants during and after the Masterclass.

All Masterclasses, whether online or in person, will be delivered with a limited capacity to offer full accessibility and engagement to all participants.

BASL DMU Postgraduate Certificate in Sports Law

BASL and De Montfort University have for a number of years worked together in the delivery of the BASL DMU Postgraduate Certificate in Sports Law. Applications are currently open for the 2020/2021 course are now open.
