Richard Bush is a partner in the Media, Entertainment & Sports Group at Bird & Bird in London and an experienced sports lawyer. He began his career in 2011 as an in-house lawyer at The FA, later working at a boutique sports law firm before joining Bird & Bird in 2016. Richard advises national and international governing bodies, event organisers, clubs, and rights-holders on regulatory challenges, rule drafting, disciplinary matters including doping and corruption, safeguarding, participant welfare, and commercial disputes. He has represented clients before English courts, the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and various sports tribunals, and serves on The FA’s County Disciplinary (Anti-Discrimination) Chairman's Panel and the Esport Integrity Coalition’s Disciplinary Panel. He is also a contributing author to Football and the Law and Sport: Law and Practice.
